YES, the Mercedes-Benz Oakville 10k is a Road Warrior-designated race.
The Road Warrior ‘handicap rating’ program is designed to encourage current runners to train a bit more, to enter more races, and have fun with the competitive aspect of running 'against' others of all abilities. Prizes are awarded to the top three Road Warriors at each ‘Road Warrior’ race. You have to sign up on the Road Warrior site to be eligible but it’s free! These prizes are extra and don’t replace prizes to overall winners or age group winners, it's an additional category of winners. The 'Road Warrior' winners at races are often those who never win awards at races so for the masses this program is fun to participate in.
Road Warriors also earn series points at each race they do in a quest to finish in the top 10 big prize winners at the end of the year. The Mercedes-Benz Oakville 10k will earn each Road Warrior DOUBLE the points. Even more reason to sign up as a Road Warrior and enter our race!
